What You'll Need Before You Start
Before anything else, clean skin and a good facial oil. That's it. Don't skip the oil. The gua sha needs to glide, not drag. Using it on dry skin will do more harm than good and trust me, you'll feel the difference immediately.
Step 1 Start With Your Neck
Nobody talks about this enough but this is where everything begins. Start at the base of your neck and glide upward toward your jaw, slow and firm. Do this 5 times on each side. Your lymphatic system needs to be opened up first before you work on your face. Skip this step and you're leaving half the results on the table.
Step 2 Define Your Jawline
This is the step everyone's here for. Take the curved edge of your gua sha, place it along your chin and glide firmly up and outward toward your ear. Press with actual intention here, this is where you sculpt. 5 times each side. You'll feel the tension melt almost instantly.
Step 3 Lift Your Cheekbones
Start from the side of your nose and glide outward and upward toward your ear. This is the movement that gives you that lifted look over time. 5 times each side, every single morning.
Step 4 Depuff Under Your Eyes
Switch to your roller here, the small end. Use basically zero pressure. Start from the inner corner and roll gently outward toward your temple. 3 times per side is enough.
Step 5 Smooth Your Forehead
Place the flat edge between your eyebrows and glide outward toward your temples. This is the moment your forehead literally unclenches. Slow, deliberate strokes, 5 times each side.
Step 6 Finish With The Roller
End every session with your facial roller. Roll upward, neck, jawline, cheeks, forehead. Think of it as sealing everything in. The coolness calms any redness and your serum absorbs so much better straight after.
The Golden Rules
Always go upward and outward. Keep your gua sha at 45°. Oil first, always. 5 minutes every day beats 30 minutes once a week. Wash your tools after each use. Keep it in the fridge if you can, the cold is half the magic.
When Will You See Results
Most girls notice less puffiness within the first week. A more defined jawline shows up around day 10 to 14. The real glow-up comes around week 4 to 6 of showing up consistently every morning. 5 minutes. That's genuinely all it takes. 💜
